CP Series #14 [Jazz Piano Sheet Music]

← #13 [Auto Drill]                                                                                 #15 [Spooky Jazz Music] →

I am back with more sheet music 😀 This edition features a jazz piece generically titled “Jazz Piano”. This song was first introduced in the Coffee Shop during the 2008 Music Jam, and later as igloo music. It’s sort of a hidden gem, at least in my opinion. If you’re a fan of Charlie’s Here, I think you’ll like this a lot!

I was looking through my Youtube comments to see if anyone had requested anything, and I came across this comment by lolgodzilla:

I didn’t even realise this was a song suggestion back then, due to the name. But I remembered visiting a jazz themed igloo a couple years ago, and suddenly it hit me that it was the music playing in Flying Giant’s igloo. This photo is from mid August 2015:

That’s the backstory of this post, now to get into the music. For the first 24 measures, I wrote out the chords solely in the bass clef and melody in the treble clef. In the next 16 measures, the melody and chords are sort of fused and played together in the song, so I arranged it more like standard piano sheet music. The last 8 bars are similar to the beginning. I’m not a professional jazz musician, but I did my best to listen closely and get the voicings for the chords correct. I’d say it’s at least 95% accurate. Here is the sheet music:

The chord progression starts with the walking bass I – VIII – iiiº – VI, then goes ii – VIII – III – iii | ii – ii – vi – vi | IV – II – V – V, back to the walking bass progression, and then variations on the repeat ending:

||: Gsus2 | F#7 | Bm7b5/F | E7
Am7 | F#7 | B | Bm7
Adim | Adim | Em7 | Em7
C6 | A7 | D7 | D7
Gsus2 | F#7 | Bm7b5/F | E7
1) Am7 | F#7 D7 | G Edim | Amaj7b5 D7 :||
2) Am7 | D7 | G | G

Here is a video of Noteflight playing the score:

And here is a tutorial played by Synthesia. I found Synthesia’s piano sound to be closer to the piano in the actual song than Noteflight’s:

I Hope you enjoyed this post! Thank you lolgodzilla for the request. I’m always open to more song requests.
